• Manage and oversee the daily operations of a power plant; • Serve as Shift Supervisor and technical advisor to on shift personnel; • Manage the shift staff and all direct staff on day to day bases; • Supervise staff in the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the generation and distribution of power; • Attend daily meetings and coordinate daily activities with power plant staff and vendors; • Ensure that the facility and all personnel operate safely at all times and promotes an environment whereby safety is a priority. Follow and ensure staff follows standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards; • Ensure timely and sound maintenance, scheduled preventive maintenance, and preventive tests of power facilities; • Provide for modifications of equipment and systems in compliance with the Company's procedures for approval and carrying out of technical modifications; • Provide power demand and monitoring of power consumption; • Participate in the development and implementation of activities towards effective power consumption; • Monitor the delivery and timeliness of inspections and tests of protective means at power facilities as well as firefighting appliances and tools; • Maintain the established procedures of acceptance for operation and connection of new and retrofitted power facilities; • Make necessary arrangements towards prompt maintenance of power facilities and emergency response; • Participation in commissioning and pre-startup work, functional testing and putting into operation all new equipment at the GTPP.

Control the required activities of the control room and roving operator watchstations, including the operation and performance monitoring of all equipment, creation and maintenance of plant records, extensive use of personal computers and distributed control systems, and all other plant operations; Maintain high personnel and equipment safety; Maximize plant efficiency and profits without degrading personnel and equipment safety practices, environmental requirements or the long term operation of the plant; Perform other assigned independent, team, or shift tasks such as system expert, industrial safety program activities, routine maintenance tasks, housekeeping and general facility preservation; Respond quickly to abnormal plant conditions or requirements; Assist in developing and defining operational policies and procedures; Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems; Provide support to the Maintenance Department; Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
