A Team member conducting a Project on Developing a user-friendly, graphical interface that integrates the Loader Assignment Model into an easy to use tool that would be used by Hub IEs at FedEx shipping hubs in order to more efficiently utilize loader and truck assignments. The output of the project is an excel file put together through visual basic that will, through one click, upload an output file(s) from the FedEx database system and display the door assignment of both the truck and the loader as well as the expected flow to each door. In addition the interface will display appropriate statistics involved with implementing a view plan.

The objective of the project was to evaluate the economic impact of the new design of facility layout, including the flow time of partially finished product and level of throughput. By comparing original and propsed layout parameters such as Throughput level, Work In Process, Travel distance of components, Time in System, and Utilization of main production lines, managerial decisions could be made to conform the strategic objective of the company.

Developing SimBit Models for Simio Simulation Software. SimBits are premade models that help learners of Simio simulation software to solve real world modelling challenges. Each SImBit comes with both PDF Documentation and a model itself so that a one can learn how to approach different situations and scenarios. My part of job was to develop simulation models to illustrate how conveyor or any other type of production lines can be modified for different conditions such as sending failed products to the inspection line, setting up a logic that helps at merging point of two conveyors to avoid a collision of arriving parts, and so on.
